greater group has strategically collaborated with Heinemann to enhance the retail experience at Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminals T2 and T3. This initiative aims to deliver a design that seamlessly integrates with the airport’s evolving infrastructure while prioritising the passenger journey. The project extends beyond retail spaces, influencing the overall aesthetics of terminal concourses and adjacent mall areas to foster a more immersive and engaging commercial environment.

As you walk through Terminal 2, your attention is immediately drawn to the sculptural curved mesh curtain installation by Kriska Decor, elegantly suspended above the concourse. This double-height statement piece creates a sense of movement, guiding travellers seamlessly through the retail space while adding a dynamic architectural element to the terminal.
Complemented by custom feature lighting, the installation enhances the ambience, making the Heinemann shopping experience feel immersive and effortlessly integrated into the airport’s design.
Merging technology with design, a curved transparent digital installation at T2 introduces an avant-garde element that captivates tourists. This innovative display enhances customer engagement while seamlessly integrating into the terminal’s architectural framework.
The award-winning seating and product engagement zone immediately stands out, offering a seamless blend of functionality and design. Framed by custom curved mesh installations, the space creates a natural flow that draws tourists in, inviting them to explore luxury products in a comfortable and engaging setting.
Integrating digital displays, ambient lighting, and premium materials enhances the immersive shopping experience, transforming Heinemann’s retail area into a destination within the terminal.
Sydney Airport’s foundational structure is undergoing significant ageing, necessitating careful coordination to align Heinemann’s retail transformation with the airport’s long-term development trajectory. This situation requires a forward-looking design approach, ensuring the newly developed retail spaces are adaptable to future expansions.
The project involves numerous stakeholders, including Sydney Airport authorities, base build architects, engineers, and contractors. Thus, effective collaboration is essential. It is imperative to align various visions and priorities while preserving the integrity of Heinemann’s brand, necessitating strategic expertise in design and project management.
Each terminal presents unique architectural characteristics and passenger flow dynamics, demanding tailored design strategies. The challenge lies in developing two distinct yet harmonious design solutions that engage travellers effectively while consistently representing the Heinemann brand experience.
