KW Commerce | 2021 | Commercial & Workplace | Design & Build
KW-Commerce, an international e-commerce company with a growing presence in Europe, America and Asia, enlisted Greater Group to design and build a 14,000 sqft office space in northern Hong Kong’s Kowloon area. Greater Projects, a partner company of Greater Group, provided services for design and build to deliver a stylish, functional and inspiring workspace on time and on budget, within an efficient time frame.
Between 2018-2020, KW-Commerce expanded to Hong Kong with a new branch and an additional facility for purchasing logistics and quality control. The Hong Kong subsidiary plays a vital role in the company’s success in terms of managing supply chains and developing the sales market in the Asia Pacific region. The project brief was thus to create a 200 pax office that supports activity-based working and accommodates a variety of processes including product testing.
The result is a minimalist and modern workspace that expertly combines professionalism with comfort. The timber floor, indoor plants and retro-modern touches of gold and pastels facilitate a warm welcome while the light colour palette implemented throughout the space adds to the inspiring interior. The various zones in the design seamlessly collaborate to form a practical, professional and creatively stimulating working environment for staff.
Essential to the functionality of this design is the variety of seating options and collaboration hubs. The hot desking zone enables multiple workers to use a single workstation while maximising spatial efficiency. The spacious board room accommodates 14+ people at a time. Offering privacy, comfortable seating and pristine views over the city, this room is a prime venue for meetings and brainstorm sessions. In the kitchen area, the cosy armchairs, booths and counter seats are ideal for breakout sessions and collaborative discussions.
The design was finalised in six weeks while the build was successfully completed on time and on budget in eight weeks. The workspace was designed with the client’s ever-growing workforce in mind. The design allows room to expand as needed within a minimally disruptive timeframe should the need arise in the future.
Headquartered in Germany, KW-Commerce is an international e-commerce company with an extensive retail network spanning Europe, the US and APAC. Established in Berlin in 2012 with only four employees, the company now operates globally with a workforce of 300+ and growing. KW-Commerce houses various proprietary brands including kwmobile, kalibri and Navaris, selling 20,000+ items such as electronics accessories and home decor to more than 7,000,000 shoppers per year.
