Lasting First Impression

The design and build project for Aurex Group’s Hong Kong HQ revamped office makes tracks towards a collaborative and connected future for their employees. Founded in 2010 in Hong Kong as Capstone Recruitment, their success in Asia was the springboard of their international expansion and rebranding in 2017. This refurbishment was a great way to breathe life into their current space, refresh their facilities and revitalise their staff. 

greater group‘s team of workplace design specialists worked closely with Aurex Group to design an office that meets the needs of a diverse workforce, while embracing technology and smart solutions in line with their dynamic growth.  In addition, with offices these days becoming an essential recruitment tool, it can help to attract and retain the best talent in their industry. As the physical home of the Aurex Group’s brand, greater group designed a concept that gives potential staff and clients a lasting first impression. 

The Design

Upon entering the office, visitors are greeted with a striking and contemporary reception space. The orange colour palette, symbolising trust, determination and success, defines Aurex Group‘s new corporate identity. Bright orange and black accents are used throughout the space with the rest of the furnishing in a monochromatic colour scheme to balance the contrast.

The communal space with plush lounges and bar stool seating provides a place for staff to come together for casual meetings and social events. The abundance of daylight and timber flooring adds warmth and light to the office. The iconography theme introduced in the meeting rooms is a playful attempt to use iconography to boost staff engagement.

Collaborate & Connect

The office houses various breakout spaces, collaboration zones, meeting rooms and enabling technology for the agile workforce. This allows staff to move around the office, working from an area that complements their current task at hand. There is a mixture of touchdown desks, workstations, whiteboard walls and casual working areas.

To optimise the floorspace, greater group designed meeting rooms for particular tasks, which avoids having one or two people book a large meeting room for a small catchup. These include solo concentration rooms, calling booths, and two, four and eight-plus person meeting rooms. This ensures that staff always have an environment available to support their meeting or working style.  

The Solution

greater group managed the entire process from start to finish – starting with reviewing their current space to see how their people work, designing a new office that inspires their staff and delivering the fit out to perfection. Having one point of contact for the whole project also took away the stress of dealing with different contractors or third parties.

In addition, the refurbishment was carried out with minimal fuss, carrying out any disruptive work outside of their normal business hours and on weekends. Procurement, design and construction were simultaneously working side-by-side to ensure the programme was met and delivered within Aurex Group‘s budget.
